Mr. Elkin is an internist in Queens, where he is affiliated with Peninsula Hospital Center and Saint John Episcopal Hospital. He completed his internal medicine residency training at Long Island Jewish Medicine Center.

He earned his M.D. from the SUNY Downstate Medical Center.

Mrs. Elkin is an ophthalmologist at Ophthalmology & LASIK Center in Far Rockaway, N.Y.

Homes sales in Bensonhurst West are down 65 percent in 2008 versus 2007.The median sales price, however, is up from $500,000 in 2007 to $505,000 so far this year.
