Edward A. Treichel and his wife, Petra, bought a two-bedroom, three bath at 2728 N. Southport Ave. in Lincoln Park for $523,500 from John and Lisa Albrighton on May 27.

The Albrightons paid $485,000 for the home in Feb. 2004.

Mr. Treichel is the president and CEO of McDonnell Investment Management, an investment advisory firm based in west suburban Oak Brook. He previously served as the executive director and chief investment officer of Van Kampen Management Inc., which was acquired by McDonnell Investment Management in 2001.

He also served as a vice president at Continental Illinois National Bank and Trust Company of Chicago, and taught at the University of Maryland and the University of Iowa.

He earned his Ph.D. in finance and monetary economics from the University of Iowa and his master's and bachelor's degrees from the school as well.
