Entertainment exec, Huckabee fundraiser buys 3BD in Las Vegas

Francis "Bud" McLarty and Kristin K. McLarty bought a three-bedroom, 2.5 bath at 9041 Opus Drive in Las Vegas for $775,000 from James and Michelle Compton Bell on June 30.

The Bells paid $860,000 for the property in April 2006. The 3,029 square foot house, built in 1991, is in the Canyon Gate subdivision.

Mr. McLarty has served as president and CEO of BMC Media, Inc. and McLarty Entertainment Group, which both produced several entertainment and corporate events that featured artists like The Rolling Stones, Rod Stewart and Neil Diamond.

He also served as a senior advisor to Kissinger McLarty Associates, the international consulting firm founded by Henry A. Kissinger and Thomas "Mack" McLarty, Bud's older brother and former White House chief of staff during the Clinton administration.

During the primary season of the 2008 U.S. presidential race, former Republican presidential candidate Mike Huckabee tapped Bud McLarty to help out with fundraising.

Bud McLarty began his entertainment career while still a college student with his first Dallas-based entertainment company, Talent Warehouse, Inc., which managed local musicians, produced live concerts and syndicated a national TV program.

He graduated from Southern Methodist University in Dallas with a degree in fine arts.

Home sales in Las Vegas increased four percent in 2008 versus sales in 2007. The median sales price dropped from $275,000 to $230,000.
