Medium 51a3af1368e87737c67d804621c5f132 The estate of Heath Ledger sold the late actor's two-bedroom, two-bath at 8010 Woodrow Wilson Dr. in Hollywood for $2.5 million to Eighty Ten Properties, Llc, on July 16, 2008.

Ledger paid $2.3 million for the home in June 2006, and bought the property from talk show host and comedienne Ellen DeGeneres.

Ledger was regarded as one of the best young actors of his generation before he passed away suddenly at the age of 28 on Jan. 22, 2008. The Australian actor rose all the way from a career in television in the mid 1990s to an Academy Award nomination for Best Performance by an Actor in a Leading Role for his turn as cowboy Ennis Del Mar in the 2005 Ang Lee drama Brokeback Mountain. He also met longtime girlfriend and fellow actor Michelle Williams on the set of the film.

On the strength of his Brokeback Mountain effort and roles in films like Monster's Ball, The Patriot and a breakout role in 10 Things I Hate About You, Ledger landed the role of The Joker in The Dark Knight, following the saga of legendary comic book hero Batman. The film is set to hit theaters later this month.

Ledger also appeared in the 2007 Bob Dylan biopic I'm Not There. He died of an accidental overdose of prescription drugs in his Manhattan apartment.
