Law firm partner pays $3M on Upper West Side

Clifford H. and Nancy K. Schoenberg bought a co-op at 329 W. 77th St. on the Upper West Side from Nancy M. Scharff for $3 million on July 17.

Unit #6B is located in a 16-story, 209,780-square-foot building that was constructed in 1930.

Mr. Schoenberg is chair of the insurance and reinsurance practice and a partner at Cadwalader, Wickersham & Taft, LLP. There he has led teams of attorneys in several cases and was lead counsel in arbitration against Fortress Re, in which client Sompo Japan was awarded $1 billion in compensatory damages.

He graduated from the Boston University School of Law in 1975 and earned his B.A. from Dickinson College in 1972.

Condo sales on the Upper West Side increased 10 percent from 2006-2007. The median sales price decreased six percent in the same period, falling to $718,000 from $765,000.
