Former Apple product designer spends $1.15M near Wall Street

Andrew Borovsky and Leah Sigler bought a two-bedroom, two bath at 80 John St. in Wall Street from WSA Management, Ltd. for $1.15 million on July 22.

The 1,130-square-foot Unit #12F is in The South Star, a condominium high-rise.

Borovsky is founder and principal at 80/20 Studio, which designs and develops a wide range of products and services to companies like Adobe, Verizon and TimeWarner, to name a few.

Prior to forming his own company, he worked at Apple as product design lead, working on the ecosystem of services for the iPhone and Mac. Prior to that he directed design at Adobe, creating state-of-the-art mobile experiences for Nokia, Sony Ericsson, Samsung, AT&T and Vodafone.

He earned two B.A. degrees, one in graphic design from Ontario College of Art & Design and another one in graphic design and advertising from the School of Visual Arts in New York City.

The South Star, which was built in 1927, is 23 stories high and features 90 units.

Home sales in Wall Street/Lower Manhattan are down 80 percent in 2008 versus sales in 2007. The median sales price, however, is up from $878,000 in 2007 to $960,000 so far this year.
