New Jersey epidemiologist buys on E. 63rd St.

Dr. Cristina Cicogna sold a two-bedroom, two bath Unit #6J at 166 E. 63rd St. on the Upper East Side from Keech Combe for $1.2 million on July 23.

Cicogna is an epidemiologist and infectious disease consultant at Hackensack University Medical Center (HUMC) in New Jersey. She has 18 years experience with an expertise in infections in immuno-compromised patients.

She has also worked as a clinical assistant professor in the department of medicine at New Jersey Medical School. Prior to joining HUMC, she served as physician-in-charge and outreach consultant at NYC bureau of tuberculosis control.

She graduated from University of Lausanne Medical School in Switzerland (1986). She completed her residency in internal medicine at St. Luke's-Roosevelt Medical Center, where she served as chief resident in internal medicine and her fellowship in infectious diseases at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center.

There are 157 units in the 20-story building at 166 E. 63rd St., also known as Beekman Townhouse. It was built in 1950.

Condo sales in Upper East Side/Carnegie Hill went up one percent in 2007 versus sales in 2006. The median sales price also went up from $1.2 million in 2006 to $1.5 million in 2007.
