Gastroenterologist buys Flatiron condo for $3.1M

Dr. Antonio Palagiano bought a condo at 280 Park Ave. S. in Flatiron from Anita Mandl for $3.1 million on July 30.

Unit #25F is in Gramercy Place, an apartment tower on the southeast corner of 22nd Street and Park Avenue South.

Dr. Palagiano is a gastroenterologist in Brooklyn. He earned his M.D. from the University of Bologna in Italy (1981) and completed his residency at Cabrini Medical Center in Gramercy Park.

Mandl is the window of the architect, David Mandl, who founded Meltzer/Mandl Architects. Mr. Mandl passed away in 2007.

The development at 280 Park Ave. S. in Flatiron, which was built in 1955, has 258 units on 27 floors.

Condo sales in Gramercy Park rose 25 percent in 2007 versus sales in 2006. The median sales price also went up from $590,000 to $670,000 during the same period.
