Erik J. Nordlander bought Unit #16T at 61 Seventh Ave. in Chelsea for $595,000 from James and John Sielaff on July 21.

The 21-story condominium was built in 1963.

Nordlander currently works for Google as a software engineer.

He is a graduate of Massachusetts Institute of Technology.

Sales in 61 Seventh Ave. were down 15.4 percent in 2007 versus sales in 2006. The median sales price, however, rose more than 19 percent, from $599,000 to $715,000 during the same period.

Residential sales in Chelsea dropped 37 percent in 2008 versus sales in 2007. The median sales price rose from $769,000 to $780,000.
