Former Miami Dolphins quarterback Dan Marino and his wife, Claire, have listed for sale their 10-bedroom, 12.2 bath at 3415 Stallion Lane in Weston for the asking price of $13.5 million.

The 15,053-square-foot home was built on 4.3 acres in 1997 and is part of the Windmill Ranch Estates subdivision.

Giselle Bonetti of One Sotheby's International Realty is the listing agent for the property.

Considered one of the best quarterbacks in NFL history and the signature face of the Miami Dolphins franchise, Marino, 48, was elected into the NFL Hall of Fame in 2005. He retired in 2000 after 260 games and 17 seasons with the Dolphins, a career in which he set every major NFL passing record and was selected to the Pro Bowl nine times.

Marino retired as the career leader in NFL history in yards (61,361), completions (4,967) and touchdowns (420), but each of these marks has since been eclipsed by Green Bay Packers great and current Minnesota Vikings quarterback Brett Favre. He still holds a slew of records and is remembered fondly for his 1984 season in Miami, when he was named league MVP and led the Dolphins to Super Bowl XIX against the San Francisco 49ers in Stanford, Calif. Marino famously never returned to the Super Bowl after losing to rival Joe Montana and the 49ers, but he appeared in 18 career playoff games before retiring.

Marino was elected into the College Football Hall of Fame in 2003 in honor of his college days at Pitt. He is originally from Pittsburgh.

Since his retirement, Marino has been a fixture on CBS's "The NFL Today" and "Inside the NFL" on HBO. He's also served as a spokesman for NutriSystem weight loss programs and the Papa John's national pizza chain, and he has opened a string of Dan Marino's Town Tavern restaurants in a number of South Florida communities.

He has also made memorable ventures into television and film, highlighted by a comedic turn in the 1994 Jim Carrey romp Ace Ventura: Pet Detective. He has also appeared on "The Simpsons" and was featured in a video for the hit song "Only Wanna Be With You" by 1990's pop band Hootie and the Blowfish.

He's also a prominent supporter of Autism research, and started the Dan Marino Foundation and later the Marino Autism Research Institute at the University of Miami.

The Marinos sold a nine-bedroom home in Parkland for $2.35 million in Sept. 2008.

There were 1,129 home sales in Weston in 2008, with a median sales price of $272,900.
