Bus company president spends $465K in South County

Gary G. Deeken and his wife, Gloria, bought a five-bedroom, 2.5 bath at 10063 Bauer Rd. in Unincorporated South County for $465,000 from William P. Studdard and his wife, Kelly, on May 12.

The Studdards paid $200,765 for the property in July 1995. The 3,940 square foot house was built in 1955.

Cindy Valentine of Coldwell Banker Gundaker real estate was the agent for the sale. The home was listed for $625,000 when it appeared on the market in September.

Mr. Deeken is the owner, president and CEO of Central States Bus Sales, Inc., a St. Louis-based distributor for several manufacturers of buses and related equipment in Missouri, Illinois, Tennessee, Kentucky and Arkansas. He's worked for the company since 1980 and held its top spot since 1992.

He earned a bachelor's in business and finance from the University of Missouri-Saint Louis.

Home sales in Unincorporated South County have dropped 14.1 percent thus far in 2008. The median sale price has also dropped $9,000, from $180,000 in 2007 to $171,000 so far this year.
