Hospital administrator, accountant swap for $675K in Chesterfield

Dr. James A. Schell II and his wife, Carol, sold their four-bedroom, 3.5 bath at 308 White House Farm Ln. in Chesterfield for $675,000 to Donald L. Esstman on May 6.

The Schells paid $564,462 for the 3,668 square foot home in July 2000, the same year it was built.

Dawn Gluesenkamp of RE/MAX Suburban real estate was the agent for the sale. The home was listed for $675,000.

Dr. Schell currently serves as the vice president of medical affairs at Saint Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.

Previously, Dr. Schell has served as medical director for many organizations in the healthcare industry, including insurance groups, medical centers, the Missouri Medicare Services and most recently, at the DePaul Health Center. He practiced internal medicine in both hospital-based and private-practice settings for 15 years.

He earned his M.D. and a master's in health administration from the University of Missouri-Columbia.

Esstman is a partner in the St. Louis office of accounting firm Rubin Brown.

He earned his master's in professional accounting from the University of Texas and his bachelor's in business administration from the University of Tennessee.

Home sales in Chesterfield have increased 37 percent thus far in 2008. The median sale price, however, has dropped $5,000, from $330,000 to $325,000 so far this year.
