Pioneering art director of Fortune Magazine lived in this building

Graphic Designer Walter Allner lived in this building in 1967. He was art director of Fortune Magazine from 1962 to 1974. In 1965 he designed the first computer generated cover on a national magazine for the annual Fortune 500 issue, after taking a course at M.I.T. Allner also pioneered a form of kinetic light painting. After leaving Fortune in 1974 he taught and lectured. Allner passed away in 2006.
