Publisher Bennett Cerf owned this house in 1967. He co-founded Random House Inc. in 1927. The company is the largest publisher of English-language books in the world. Truman Capote, James Michener, and Ayn Rand were all published by Random House Inc. Cerf passed away in 1971.
