Diplomat Donald Heath lived in this building in 1967. He was United States Ambassador to Cambodia, Laos, Vietnam, Lebanon, and Saudi Arabia. Heath encouraged and helped carry out U.S. policy as Ambassador to Vietnam that resulted in U.S. military involvement in Vietnam. He retired from the foreign service in 1961 and taught at the University of California at Los Angeles. Heath passed away in 1981.
