Dr. Shoma Desai and Amish Desai bought a four-bedroom, three-bath home at 987 Woodside Dr. in West Chicago from Barbara M. Shippy for $310,000 on Oct. 16.

Shippy and Yuzaitis paid $276,600 for the property in March 1996. The 2,942-square-foot house was built in 1996 in the West Chicago North neighborhood.

Dr. Desai has been a clinical emergency medicine instructor and assistant medical director at the USC Keck School of Medicine.

She earned her B.A. in molecular and cell biology from the University of California-Berkeley and her M.D. from the University of California-San Diego. She competed her residency and internship at the State University of New York-Brooklyn Health Science Center.

According to BlockShopper.com, there have been 186 home sales in West Chicago during the past 12 months, with a median sales price of $154,250.
