30th Ward Alderman sells Lincoln Park two-flat

30th Ward Alderman Ariel Reboyras sold a four-bedroom, 2.5 bath at 2716 N. Wilton for $530,000 on Aug. 7 to Jeffrey Absher.

The two-level Lincoln Park home on the "El" side of Wilton, which includes two rental units, is in the 43rd Ward. It was on the market for 47 days and sold for its list price.

Elected alderman in 2003, Reboyras, 53, represents the Logan Square and Old Irving Park neighborhoods. A liberal Democrat, he previously worked in the city's General Services Dept. and was a top lieutenant within the powerful Hispanic Democratic Organization (HDO), which slated him for the office after popular Ald. Mike Wojcik stepped down to run for State Senate.

In July, Reyboras voted for the "Big Box" ordinance, which requires Wal-Mart and Target stores within the Chicago city limits to pay a higher minimum wage.

Absher completed a B.S. from DePaul in 2003 after receiving a B.A. from the Illinois Institute of Technology in 2000.

Reboyras also owns a home in the ward he represents, at 2654 N. Parkside in the Belmont Cragin neighborhood.
