IIT professor makes 400% on Hermitage

Architecture professor Benjamin Nicholson and his wife, Laura, sold their four-bedroom, 1.1 bath at 4025 N. Hermitage for $839,000 to Christopher Olson on Aug. 11.

Nicholson paid $194,500 for the two story home, located just north of Irving Park, in Aug. 1990. He originally listed it for $791,000.

The property was on the market for 70 days.

Nicholson, 53, works at the Illinois Institute of Technology. In 2004, he published a book titled The World Who Wants It, and a CD/ROM titled Thinking the Unthinkable House.

4025 N. Hermitage is a frame home built in 1911.
