Kirkland partner buys 5BD on Eddy

Attorneys Seth Traxler and Jessica Aspen paid $1.26 million for a five-bedroom, 3.2 bath at 1237 W. Eddy from Jay and Katherine Goldstein on Aug. 15.

The Goldsteins paid $1.185 million for the property in Nov. 2005. The sale lasted 98 days on the market with an original list price of $1.285 million.

Traxler, 34, is a partner with Kirkland & Ellis in Chicago, where he handles intellectual property, corporate and commercial law. He previously worked as a clerk for judge John Grady in the Northern District of Illinois. He got his J.D. from Northwestern University (1997) and has a B.A. from the University of Kansas (1993).

Aspen, 34, formerly worked as an associate with Jenner & Block in Chicago. She did her undergrad studies at Vassar College in Poughkeepsie, N.Y., and also earned her law degree from Northwestern.

The native Chicagoans were married in Oct. 1999. They used to own a condo at 516 W. Aldine, Unit #2.
