He previously worked as a clerk for judge John Grady in the Northern District of Illinois. He got his J.D. from Northwestern University (1997) and has a B.A. from the University of Kansas (1993).
Aspen, 34, formerly worked as an associate with Jenner & Block in Chicago. She did her undergrad studies at Vassar College in Poughkeepsie, N.Y., and also earned her law degree from Northwestern.
The native Chicagoans were married in Oct. 1999. They used to own a condo at 516 W. Aldine, Unit #2.
