Sterling, 46, is the Chicago-based midwest sales manager at Forbes.com, the companion Web site of business magazine Forbes.
Sterling sold her condo in Alexandria, Va. for $640,000 on May 26. She started with Forbes as a Washington, D.C.-based advertising manager in 1997, previously worked for the McGraw-Hill titles Aviation Week and Space Technology.
Lakewood Commons is a three-story, 30-unit townhome complex south of Fullerton that was built in 1985 by MCL & Pathway Financial Corp.
