Chief investment officer buys Lake Forest home for $1.25M

Medium 49f14c1ea2ee0e2c77c29dc58b857b7f Eric C. Kuby and Valerie Kuby bought a two-bath home at 797 Oakwood Ave. in Lake Forest from James R. and Lynn E. Engelland for $1.25 million on June 1.

The Engellands acquired the property for $575,000 in Aug. 2007. The 2,086-square-foot house was built in 1918 in the West Park subdivision in Lake Forest Central.

Mr. Kuby is the chief investment officer of North Star Investment Management Corporation.

He previously worked with Wachovia Securities as an investments director and at First Albany Asset Management as a senior portfolio manager, a position he also held at Oppenheimer Investment Advisers. He also was a chief investment officer at Rodman Advisory Services and an associate director at Bear Stearns.

He received an M.B.A. in finance and a B.A. in economics from the University of Chicago.

According to BlockShopper.com, there have been 176 home sales in Lake Forest during the past 12 months, with a median sales price of $712,529.
