Richard A. Helmers and Samantha Helmers bought a three-bedroom, two-bath home at 838 Belleforte Ave. in Oak Park from KZ Dev. Corp. for $675,000 on Nov. 15.

KZ Dev. Corp. paid $161,000 for the property in January 2011. The 1,840-square-foot house, built in 1920, is in Northwest Oak Park.

Helmers is a critical care and pulmonary medicine specialist and an associate professor of medicine at the Mayo Clinic in Scottsdale, Ariz.

He received his M.D. from the Carver College Of Medicine at the University of Iowa and completed his residencies and fellowship in critical care medicine at the University Iowa College Medicine Affiliated Hospitals.

According to BlockShopper.com, there have been 485 home sales in Oak Park during the past 12 months, with a median sales price of $320,000.
