Significant gains in 3rd QT Wilmette home sales: BlockShopper Quarterly Roundup

Wilmette saw healthy gains in home sales volume during the 3rd quarter with 107 homes sold, up from just 48 sales in the 2nd quarter.

That number is consistent with year-over-year sales when the town saw 104 transactions.

The median sales price, however, dropped 25 percent year-over-year to $598,000 from $806,000 last year.

Nearby Winnetka and Glenview have experienced similar increases in residential home sales activity. Sales in Winnetka are up to 65 this quarter from 24 last quarter. Similarly, home sales in Glenview increased from 162 to 190 this quarter.

Of the 107 sales in Wilmette, five were foreclosures. There were 14 foreclosures in Glenview and none in Winnetka.

Wilmette's highest-priced sale this quarter was $2.225 million for 2333 Iroquois Rd. on Sept. 14. The 1,981-square-foot house was built in 1953 and was sold by Janina and Andrzej Kruszewski to Sascha and Britta Bopp.

Other notable first quarter sales in Wilmette include 1050 Forest Ave. for $1.665 million and 17 Canterbury Ct. for $1.65 million.

Over the past 12 months, Wilmette's median sales price is $537,000 while the median listing price is $550,000.
