Home sales down nearly 40 percent in Highland Park: BlockShopper Quarterly Roundup

Year-over-year home sales volume fell 38 percent in Highland Park during the third quarter, from 100 last year to 62 sales this quarter.  

The number is also down eight percent from the second quarter when the town saw 68 home sales.

The median sale prices fell 14 percent year-over-year, to $428,000 from $463,000 last year.

Similarly, nearby Glencoe and Deerfield also reported double-digit drops in volume. In Glencoe, sales fell from 46 last year to 36 this quarter and in Deerfield, from 61 to 44 sales.

Six of the Highland Park sales were foreclosures this quarter. Glencoe had none while Deerfield saw 11.

The highest transaction posted during the third quarter was the Sept. 18 purchase of a three-bedroom, two-bath home at 436 Lakeside Manor Road for $1.85 million. Other notable transactions include 919 Judson Avenue for $1.08 million and 1106 S Lincoln Avenue for $1.03 million.
