Cary-Grove Performing Arts Centre (CGPAC), Cary's performing arts training venue for dance, piano and voice lessons, is proud of CGPAC student Alexandra Renner on her summer experience with the Joffrey Ballet.

Renner was one of thousands of students from around the world who auditioned to be a part of the Joffrey Summer Intensive. She was placed into the prestigious five-week international program for the selected top performers in the age range 14 to 21. The program culminated at the end of the five weeks with a performance.

The Joffrey Summer Intensive is very selective, with only 200 participants chosen for the program.

Renner began dancing with CGPAC at the age of 4 and now takes nine classes per week at the facility. She is in the top level of everything the performing arts center offers and is part of its class assistant program, assisting with three intermediate ballet classes.

"Allie is an exemplary student to have in class. It is clear that she has very technical, clean and sound training. But it's her hard work ethic that she has all the time that contributes the most to her success," Robin Irey, owner of CGPAC, said.

In addition to dancing with CGPAC, Renner will also be featured in the upcoming Nutcracker performance with the Schaumburg Ballet Ensemble, an audition-based program.

With more than 650 students, CGPAC offers beginning through advanced programs for performers of all ages. Registration will continue through early October for most classes.
