Lake Barrington Bar The Onion Pub and Brewery Participates in "Clean Water Brewers"

Lake Barrington's brewery, The Onion Pub and Brewery, is proudly pledging to participate in and support the Natural Resources Defense Council's "Clean Water Brewers" campaign. As part of its support, the pub marked the 40th anniversary of the Clean Water Act that helps protect wetlands by filtering pollutants and limiting flooding. From its inception to today, the nation’s waterways are far more clean today than 40 years ago.

This act also ensures that clean water is available for craft beers. That's why the Natural Resources Defense Council (NRDC) is partnering with craft brewers to highlight the importance of clean water and the Clean Water Act--it's critical for public health and the health of a wide range of industries.

The NRDC is a national, environmental organization with more than 1.3 million members and online activists, often working in partnership with industry and other organizations to achieve common goals, and raise awareness about clean water and the importance of the Clean Water Act.

In addition to supporting the “Clean Water for Brewers” campaign, The Onion Pub and Brewery maintains the same commitment to freshness and quality through the use of as many locally sourced ingredients as possible.

About The Onion Pub and Brewery

The Onion Pub and Brewery began as the Wild Onion Brewing Co. in 1996 with the simple goal of brewing the finest beer available to local beer drinkers. Its original brewery was located two blocks away and was pieced together with used dairy tanks in a small warehouse. As The Onion Pub and Brewery grew its keg and bottle sales throughout Chicagoland, it began to dream of building a taproom and pub on its site. That dream became a reality when The Onion Pub and Brewery opened its doors to the public in 2003. The Onion Pub and Brewery invites the community to visit its three banquet rooms that can accommodate up to 250 guests.
