Human genetics professor scores Hyde Park 4BD condo

Medium d5ed9c82c7304cecdf757cd43e094323 Daniela Del Gaudio bought a four-bedroom, 2.5-bath condo at 5230 S. University Ave. in Hyde Park from Deborah A. Hagman-Shannon and Daniel W. Shannon for $582,000 on Oct. 22.

The Shannons paid $402,000 for the property in October 1997. Unit G is 2,300-square-foot in size. It was built in 1997.

According to the University of Chicago website, Daniela Del Gaudio is an assistant professor in the human genetics department, as well as an associate director in the clinical molecular genetics laboratory at the University of Chicago. She previously served as an assistant laboratory director and professor at Baylor College of Medicine.

She obtained her B.S. and her Ph.D. from the University of Naples.

According to the Chicago Child Care Society website, Hagman-Shannon is an executive director of the agency. She previously served as vice president of workforce development for the Council for Adult and Experiential Learning. She earlier held senior level positions at Firstar Bank and Technology Exchange Center. She has also held administrative positions at the University of Washington, the California State University and the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee.

She obtained a bachelor's degree from St. Olaf College, a master's degree from the University of Nebraska and a doctorate degree from Claremont Graduate University.

According to BlockShopper.com, there have been 215 condo sales in Hyde Park during the past 12 months, with a median sales price of $164,500.
