Veterinary neurologist buys Deerfield home

Medium e1ca4bd82bfb97856cafb1a12412c100 Dr. Zachary E. Niman and Natalie Niman bought a one-bath home at 23448 Birchwood Lane in Deerfield from Martin Gruby and Yvonne D. Gruby for $395,000 on Nov. 21.

Martin Gruby paid $360,000 for the property in November 2003. The 1,949-square-foot property in Deerfield Northwest was built in 1949. It is located in the Del Mar Woods subdivision.

According to the Chicago Veterinary Specialty Group website, Dr. Niman specializes in veterinary neurology at the center.

He earned his B.A. in biology from Williams College and a D.V.M. from the Virginia-Maryland Regional College of Veterinary Medicine. He completed an internship in small animal medicine and surgery, as well as an internship in neurology at the Animal Emergency and Referral Center. He served his residency in neurology and neurosurgery at the North Carolina State University.

According to the Cardiology Care Network website, Natalie Niman is a cardiology care network technician at NC State University. According to her public LinkedIn profile, she previously worked as a cardiology technician at Animal Emergency and Referral Center.

She attended Harper College and Iowa State University.
