Political scientist pays $1.2M for Clinton Hill home

Medium 4b155b9c03c877ebbeb1179569b745ac Gwendolyn Gay Bevis and Christopher A. Sabatini bought a 2,214-square-foot home at 22 Clifton Place in Brooklyn from Lidia Bonilla for $1.2 million on Sept. 18.

Bonilla paid $843,230 for the property on March 22. It was built in 1899 in the Clinton Hill neighborhood.

Bevis is an independent consultant who works as a senior technical adviser to AED's Civil Society Strengthening Partnership.

She has been a political scientist for over 15 years. She previously was an assistant representative in the Asia Foundation's Philippines office. She also spent two years as a program officer in Pakistan for the foundation.

Bonilla is a compliance consultant at The AML Group Inc. in New York.

She most recently worked as a team lead at Washington Mutual Corp. Before that, she worked as an investigator at Ocean Bank and at Israel Discount Bank. Earlier in her career, she was a suspicious activity investigator at Union Bank of California International and also a compliance analyst at Citigroup.

According to BlockShopper.com, there were 4,709 sales in Brooklyn in 2008, with a median sales price of $448,000.
