Retired professor and academic VP sells Bay Ridge home

Medium 9d3cc23facb4dd58ffe83328daae1e4b Emily and David Doyaga sold a home at 19 Colonial Gardens in Bay Ridge to Edward and Diane Andersen for $635,000 on Nov. 10.

The 1,800-square-foot residence was built in 1925.

Ms. Doyaga is a retired professor and academic vice president at State University. She's also member of the faculties of St. John's University, Brooklyn College and York College of City University College, where she's also a dean.

She graduated from Harvard University and earned her Ph.D. at New York University.

According to, there have been 257 home sales in Bay Ridge during the past 12 months, with a median sales price of $530,000.
