Secular studies teacher grabs Madison townhouse

Medium 42a3d8383b8cd575fa03e205bf59c8c8 Afshin Attar, Orna Attar, Shahram Fakherian and Yafa Shilian bought a 1,824-square-foot townhouse at 1970 E. 22nd St. in Madison from Thomas P. Barreca and the estate of Thomas J. Barreca for $680,000 on Nov. 3.

The home was built in 1930.

Attar is a member of the secular studies faculty at Maalot Baltimore Women's Institute of Torah Seminary in Baltimore, Maryland.

He received a B.S. in computer science from the University of Maryland and an M.S. in computer science from Johns Hopkins University. He also received bachelor's and master's degrees in Talmudic law from Ner Israel Rabbinical College.
