Preventive medicine professor buys in Amherst

Medium 6e4300f03d20f0d5b23bfaf9e60c37b6 Xuefeng Ren bought a four-bedroom, 2.5-bath home at 84 Forestview Drive in Amherst from Farideh Chubineh for $335,000 on Dec. 15.

Chubineh paid $232,000 for the property in Jan. 2000. The 3,473-square-foot home was built in 1990.

Dr. Ren is an assistant professor in the social and preventive medicine department at the School of Public Health and Health Professions at the State University of New York at Buffalo. Prior to joining the faculty of SUNY at Buffalo, he served as an associate molecular toxicology specialist at University of California-Berkeley.

He has an M.D. from Baotou Medical College in Inner Mongolia, China and an M.S. in public health from Fudan University in Shanghai, China. He also holds a Ph.D. in toxicology from the Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center at the University of Washington in Seattle, Washington.

According to BlockShopper.com, there have been 1,265 home sales in Amherst during the past 12 months, with a median sales price of $155,000.
