School board member, bicycle-pedestrian coordinator buy in Center City West

Medium 67fe9d3a5d111da375ced180cbf486d0 Elizabeth P. Carmalt and Charles Carmalt bought a condo at 135 N. 22nd St. in Center City West from Christopher T. Quinn and Patricia A. Quinn for $585,000 on Oct. 5.

The 2,371-square-foot Unit 137A was built in 1970.

Ms. Carmalt is a member of the Board of Trustees of The Lawrenceville School in New Jersey.

She also is the founder of Interfaith Caregivers Trenton/Faith in Action Inc. and a coordinator of volunteers for the Visiting Nurse Association.

Mr. Carmalt is the pedestrian and bicycle coordinator working for the Philadelphia Mayor's office.

Prior to joining the mayor's office, he ran his own consulting firm, through which he represented Lawrence Township on the Mercer County Bicycle and Pedestrian Task Force.

According to, there were 257 condo sales in Center City West in 2008, with a median sales price of $339,900.
