Deputy Borough president settles in Oakland Gardens

Medium 4c7744893c789fa972f132cfcdd2ec3e Barry Steven Grodenchik and Debra Joan Grodenchik bought a home at 85-59 Hollis Hills Terrace in Queens from Kathleen Nagle for $815,000 on Nov. 18.

The 1,889-square-foot house was built in 1950 in Oakland Gardens.

Mr. Grodenchik is the new deputy Borough president. He previously worked under former Borough president Claire Shulman, where he served as the Queens Regional Representative at the State Department of State. He also served as ombudsman for Queens County for then Governor Mario Cuomo.

He also worked at Parkside Group, a New York City government affairs and public relations firm.

He graduated from the State University of New York-Binghamton.

Ms. Grodenchik has been a professor of developmental mathematics in the department of Reading and Basic Education at Nassau Community College in Garden City.

She graduated from Pace University and received a master's degree in mathematics from Adelphi University.

According to BlockShopper.com, there have been 9,014 home sales in Queens during the past 12 months, with a median sales price of $415,000.
