Rust is the executive vice president at Magna Resources, an energy development company founded in May 1995. He has over 20 years of senior management experience in the oil and gas industry. Prior to joining Magna Resources in 1997, he was a project engineer at Southland Corporation.

He earned his B.S. in mechanical engineering from Texas Tech University.
