David E. Wattel bought a five-bedroom, 3.5-bath home at 7653 S. Grandview Ave. in Tempe from Jodi M. Bernstein and Sanford Braver for $582,000 on Oct. 19.

The 4,028-square-foot house was built in 1998.

Wattel is a founding member at Wattel & York. His areas of practice are personal injury and medical malpractice.

He earned his bachelor's from the University of Illinois and his J.D. from the Arizona State University College of Law.

Bernstein has been a health care advocate at the Law Office of Jodi M. Bernstein. Prior to that, she was a senior counsel and director of risk management at Casa Grande Regional Medical Center. She has also worked with TriWest Health Care Alliance, Phoenix Memorial Hospital, Motorola Law Department, South Shore Mental Health Center and Harvard Community Health Plan.

She attended the Northeastern University School of Law, Boston College and Goddard College.
