Joel and Diana Aven bought a three-bedroom, four-bath home at 20501 N. Date Palm Way in Surprise from Nancy L. Brandlin for $445,000 on Oct. 28.

The 3,044-square-foot house was built in 2004 in the Surprise West neighborhood.

Mr. Aven has been the senior director of sales at Vishay Siliconix, an electronic manufacturing company. Prior to that, he was the regional sales manager at Temic/Siliconix and Fujitsu Microelectronics. He also served as the general manager at Cetec Electronics.

He earned his M.B.A. in marketing and finance from National University and his B.S. in marketing from Northern Illinois University. He also attended Oakton Community College.

According to BlockShopper.com, there have been 3,686 home sales in Surprise during the past 12 months, with a median sales price of $135,000.
