Political consultant and author sells on E. 83rd St.

Naomi Wolf sold a three-bedroom, four bath condo at 8 E. 83rd St. in the Upper East Side to Daniel and Barri Waltcher for $3.3 million on Feb. 13.

Wolf is an American author, political consultant, and public intellectual, who wrote the international bestseller The Beauty Myth in 1991. She is also the co-founder and president of the Woodhull Institute for Ethical Leadership.

She was involved in former President Bill Clinton's 1996 reelection bid, brainstorming with the president's team about ways to reach female voters.

She received her bachelor's degree in English literature from Yale University in 1984. She was a Rhodes Scholar at New College, Oxford from 1985-87. She was married to former Clinton speechwriter David Shipley, with whom she has two children.

Mrs. Waltcher is the co-founder of MYOBMoms, which conducts seminars for women who have been out of the workforce raising families and are ready to start thinking about the next phase of their lives. A former lawyer, she stopped practicing law in 1990.

She graduated from Tufts University and received her J.D. from Cornell University.

The development at 8 E. 83rd St., which was built in 1963, has 83 units on 15 floors.

Condo sales on the Upper East Side rose 100 percent in 2007 versus sales in 2006. The median sales price also jumped from $1.287 million to $2.022 million during the same period.
