Biopharmaceutical exec unloads in Lincoln Square

Medium 4ca206aedb6682fa361bbbf93e3e4d90 Avanish Vellank and Gita Vellanki sold the two-bedroom, 1.5-bath condo Unit #24D at 61 W. 62nd St. in Lincoln Square to Ronald Schwartz and Kevin Schwartz for $925,000 on Aug. 26.

There are 278 units in the 27-story cooperative apartment tower at 61 W. 62nd St., which is also known as The Harmony. It was constructed in 1978.

Mr. Vellank has served as the senior director of Corp. Development at Proteolix Inc., a biopharmaceutical company in New York. He's also worked in investment banking with Citigroup and in equity research with Bear Stearns.

He holds a B.A. in biology from Carleton College in Carleton, Minn., as well as a master's in biochemistry from the University of Minnesota–Twin Cities and an M.B.A. from the University of Minnesota.
