Friedrike Merck sold a three bedroom, 2.5-bath condo at 213 W. 23rd St. in Chelsea to Candice Marks for $3.5 million on Sept. 11.

Merck paid $4.5 million for the property in Nov. 2005. The 4,128-square-foot Unit #8S is one of 12 units in the 10-story building at 213 W. 23rd St., which is also known as The Y Building. It was constructed in 2002.

Merck is an artist whose works in sculpture and photography and who's work has been exhibited in New England and New York. She received her B.A. from the University of New Hampshire.

According to BlockShopper.com, there were 118 condo sales in Chelsea in 2008, with a median sales price of $750,000.
