Kasowitz Benson attorney buys from airline exec on W. 63rd

Medium 83c616eac45b10d8f1318dadbc3a245c Harold Levison and Ilyse Levison bought a two-bedroom, two-bath condo at 15 W. 63rd St. in Lincoln Square from Gordon M. Bethune for $1.8 million on Sept. 10.

Bethune paid $1.675 million for the property in Jan. 2007. The 1,306-square-foot Unit #20C is one of 56 units in the 40-story building located between Central Park West & Broadway, which is also known as The Park Laurel. It was constructed in 1999.

Mr. Levison is a partner at Kasowitz Benson Torres & Friedman LLP in New York and has over 35 years of experience in commercial litigation. Previously, he was an associate and partner at Mudge Rose Guthrie Alexander & Ferdon.

He received his bachelor's degree from Rutgers College and his J.D. from Brooklyn Law School.

Mr. Bethune is a retired US airline executive, a licensed commercial pilot, and a licensed airframe and power plant mechanic. He serves on the boards of Honeywell, Sprint Nextel, Prudential Financial and Willis Group Holdings.

He is also the former CEO at Continental Airlines. Prior to joining Continental, he served as vice president and general manager at Boeing Commercial Airplane Group's Renton Division. He holds a B.S. degree from Abilene Christian University in Dallas and is a graduate of Harvard Business School's Advanced Management Program.

According to BlockShopper.com, there have been 252 condo sales in Lincoln Square over the past 12 months, with a median sales price of $1,078,750.
