Database company exec acquires Upper East Side condo

Medium 1b522e8a142064ae19fc76e62875e68c Cary Krosinsky and Valerie Brown bought a condo at 179 E 79th St. on the Upper East Side from Ralph N Wharton for $630,000 on Nov. 10.

Wharton paid $640,000 for Unit #15C in January 2007. The property is part of the 179 E. 79th St. development, which was built in 1928.

Krosinsky is the vice president at Trucost PLC and sits on the board of the Association of Climate Change Officers.

He previously was a member of the 70-person expert group in 2005 that created the Principles for Responsible Investment of the United Nations, and was co-author of Sustainable Investing: The Art of Long-Term Performance. He also is a lecturer at University of Maryland Smith School of Business and has worked with CNBC, the Wall Street Journal, the LA Times and other global media regarding environmental subject matter.

According to, there have been 312 condo sales on Upper East Side during the past 12 months, with a median sales price of $876,000.
