Professor grabs Upper West Side 2BD condo for $1.35M

Medium 9118c9f4e0c4a19502aebcb8ecafd1f0 Jules M. Ranz and Bonnie T. Horen bought a two-bedroom, two-bath condo at 11 Riverside Drive in Upper West Side from Martin F. Broughton and Jocelyn M. Broughton for $1.35 million on Nov. 2.

The Broughtons paid $1.45 million for the property in May 2007. Unit #8NW is part of the 11 Riverside Drive condominium development, which was built in 1950.

Dr. Ranz is a clinical professor of psychiatry at the Columbia University Medical Center and director of the public psychiatry fellowship at the NYS Psychiatric Institute and P&S.

His past positions include an appointment to the board of trustees of Project Renewal in 1995, where he also chaired the program committee of the board of trustees in 2004, and was appointed to the board of trustees of PRI Healthcare in 2003. He also was in charge of residency training of a social and community psychiatry residency program, was director of a model community service and was clinical director of an urban state psychiatric center.

He received his bachelor's degree from Harvard College and his medical degree from the New York University School of Medicine. He completed his internship at Kaiser Hospital, his residency at the New York State Psychiatric Institute and his fellowship at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine.

According to BlockShopper.com, there have been 595 condo sales in Upper West Side during the past 12 months, with a median sales price of $812,500.
