Nonprofit organization president buys Upper West Side 5BD

Medium ef16df9571d38811c0c07d1b4a2d612f LaVerne Evans Srinivasan and Gregg Srinivasan bought a five-bedroom, 3.5-bath condo at 190 Riverside Drive on the Upper West Side from Talia Rosenblatt Cohen and Alexander Z. Cohen for $6.275 million on Nov. 30.

Unit #7A is part of the 11-story condo development at 190 Riverside Drive, which was built in 1911. It is located in the Riverside Drive/West End Historic District.

Ms. Srinivasan is the president of New Leaders for New Schools, a non-profit organization that attempts to ensure high academic achievement for students. She also sits on the boards of directors for the New Leaders for New Schools as well as the Chappaqua Schools Foundation.

She previously was the Deputy Chancellor for Operations for the New York City Department of Education. She also was the senior vice president of Legal and Business Affairs and General Counsel for BMG Entertainment.

She received an A.B. from Harvard College and a J.D. from Harvard Law School.

Mr. Srinivasan is a lawyer. He has been in practice for 20 years.

Ms. Cohen has been a literary agent at the Laura Dail Literary Agency. Her clients include some of the New York Times bestseller such as Rory Freedman and Kim Barnouin, and Annette and Steve Economides.

According to BlockShopper.com, there have been 595 condo sales on the Upper West Side during the past 12 months, with a median sales price of $812,500.
