Lake Las Vegas developer buys 5BD in Henderson for $2.1M

Ronald Boeddeker and his wife, Catherine, bought a five-bedroom, 5.5 bath at 16 Via Tiberius Way in Henderson from Lake At Las Vegas Joint Venture LLC for $2.1 million on March 4.

The 6,236 square foot house was built in 1995. It's in Lake Las Vegas.

Mr. Boeddekker is the president and chairman of Santa Barbara, Calif.-based Transcontinental Properties, Inc., which developed and owned Lake Las Vegas, a 2,600 acre mega resort in Henderson.

He led the development of Lake Las Vegas starting in 1989, and by 2006, it was home to a man-made lake, two Jack Nicklaus and a Tom Weiskopf golf courses, hundreds of luxury homes in 19 communities, condominiums, casinos, a Ritz-Carlton hotel and a Loews resort. In 2008, Lake Las Vegas was acquired by The Atalon Group.

Trained as a civil engineer, Boeddekker spent the early 1970s with Boise Cascade Real Estate and was involved in the restoration of the dam at Lake Arrowhead in the mountains above Los Angeles. He founded Transcontinental Properties in 1976.

Home sales in Henderson dropped almost 27 percent in 2007 versus sales in 2006. The median sales price also fell from $350,000 to $325,000.
