Seashell tile manufacturers buy Las Vegas 3BD for $365K

Gaylord Dia and his wife, Gwendolyn Gerona, bought a three-bedroom, 3.5 bath at 12507 Cielo Amber Lane in Las Vegas from US Bank National Association for $365,000 on March 7.

The 2,332 square foot house was built in 2005.

Mr. Dia is the CEO of Dia & Gerona Ventures LLC (Mactan Shells), a manufacturer of handcrafted tiles and other products inlaid with seashells such as Mother of Pearls.

Founded in 2003, the company's manufacturing site is located in Cebu, Philippines, and maintains a satellite sales office in Las Vegas. The company has worked on international projects like the Abu Dhabi Grand Mosque in the United Arab Emirates and the Palace of the Royal Family in Jordan.

Dia is a biologist by profession who attended college in the Philippines.

Ms. Gerona, a registered nurse, manages the company's finances.

Home sales in Las Vegas dropped almost 29 percent in 2007 versus sales in 2006. The median sales price also fell from $280,000 to $270,000.
