Joseph Haughton, technical sergeant, is a tenor vocalist with the Singing Sergeants, the official chorus of the United States Air Force in Bolling Air Force Base.
Before joining the Air Force, he appeared with Washington Concert Opera, Mobile Opera, Pensacola Opera, Ashville Lyric Opera, Pittsburgh Opera, and Pittsburgh Opera Theater.
He holds a bachelor of fine arts degree in vocal performance from Carnegie Mellon University in Pittsburgh (2002). He currently studies voice with New York City Opera mezzo soprano, Claudia Catania. He was a regional finalist for the Metropolitan Opera Competition for the Gulf Coast Region (2004), the Great Lakes Region (2005), and Middle Atlantic Region (2007).
His military awards and decorations include the National Defense Service Medal, and the Global War on Terrorism Service Medal.
