Medium fcc014d5d7e36b1134a134cef3632704 David A. Lipsetz and Dr. Catherine P. Crosland bought a two-bedroom, one-bath home at 407 A St. N.E. in Washington from Trevor S. Cornwell for $609,000 on Sept. 16.

The 1,210-square-foot house in the Capitol Hill neighborhood was built in 1900.

Lipsetz is a special policy adviser for the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development.

He previously was director for strategic planning and change management at the New York City Housing Authority. He also was a senior policy analyst at the Oakland Housing Authority and a regional planner at the Association of Bay Area Governments. Before that, he was a fellow at the Institute for Ecological and Regional Development and a legislative assistant and a computer systems manager in the Office of U.S.Rep. John Dingell.

He attended The Ohio State University and Michigan State University.

Dr. Crosland is an internist.

She received her M.D. from Harvard Medical School in Boston and completed her residency in internal medicine at Bringham and Women's Hospital.

According to BlockShopper.com, there were 4,143 sales in Washington in 2008, with a median sales price of $375,000.
