Lawyer couple settles in Columbia Heights

Medium 17542063a8b82ad6e3ed35b830009fed Adrienne J. Lockie and Adav Noti bought a four-bedroom, two-bath home at 3821 10th St. N.W. in Washington from Dr. Gavin E. Rose for $519,900 on Sept. 21.

Rose paid $399,900 for the property in Feb. 2004. The 2,000-square-foot house was built in 1926 in the Columbia Heights neighborhood.

Lockie is a practitioner-in-residence at the Women and the Law Clinic.

She started her teaching career as a Director of the Domestic Violence Advocacy Project and taught in the Women's Rights Litigation Clinic in 2004 at Rutgers School of Law-Newark. Prior to that worked as a staff attorney at Safe Horizon's Domestic Violence Law Project in Manhattan. She has also been a Blackmun Fellow at the Center for Reproductive Rights and was a judicial law clerk for Judge Carol Amon in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of New York. In addition to that, she taught at New York University's School of Social Work and in the Women's Studies Program at Rutgers.

She received a B.A. from the University of North Carolina and a J.D. from the Georgetown University Law Center.

Noti is a staff lawyer at the Federal Election Commission.

He graduated from the University of Pennsylvania and received his J.D from New York University. He also holds a master's degree in liberal studies from Georgetown.

Dr. Rose has been a psychiatrist for 17 years.

He previously worked as a staff psychiatrist at Washington Veteran's Affairs Medical Center.

He received his M.D. in 1988 from the University of Maryland, School of Medicine and took his residency from the University of Maryland Medical System.

According to, there were 4,143 home sales in Washington in 2008, with a median sales price of $375,000.
