IMF, World Bank staffers buy 3BD in Burleith

Medium f4a7391c2136a5192705a68210928299 Johan Mathisen and Rekha Menon bought a three-bedroom, three-bath townhome at 4045 Mansion Dr. N.W. in Washington, D.C. from Lucille B. Havens from $1.42 million on Sep. 18.

Charles and Lucille Havens bought the property for $1 million on Feb. 2002. The 2,988-square-foot house was built in 1991 in the Burleith neighborhood.

Mr. Mathisen works in the Policy Wing of the European Department of IMF headquarters in Washington, D.C.

He previously served as IMF resident representative in Moldova.

Ms. Menon has served as senior economist for World Bank's Development Research Group in D.C.

According to BlockShopper.com, there were 4,155 home sales in Washington, D.C. in 2008, with median sales price of $375,000.
